How to use this tool

  1. Write your link details Title, description, page link and share image link. Character counts help you keep them short.
  2. See the previews Switch between WhatsApp, Facebook, LinkedIn, X, Telegram and Google. Load your image to check its real size.
  3. Fix the problems Missing tags, short links, wrong image size or shape and missing image description are listed with the fix.
  4. Copy the tags Paste them inside <head> of your page. If your SEO plugin already adds them, edit them there instead.
  5. Check or fix an existing page Paste your page source to see what apps will show, or make a 1200 × 630 share image from any photo.

The four must-have tags

  • og:title, og:type, og:image and og:url are required by the Open Graph rules.
  • Add og:description and og:image:alt too.
  • All links must be full https:// links, not /images/photo.jpg.

Share image

  • 1200 × 630 px is the size Facebook recommends; 600 × 315 is the minimum for a large preview.
  • Keep the shape close to 1.91:1 and the file small; Facebook’s limit is 8 MB.
  • Keep text away from the edges; some apps crop to a square.

After you change tags

  • Apps remember old previews. Use Meta’s Sharing Debugger and LinkedIn Post Inspector to refresh.
  • Use the same title and link in og:url and the canonical tag.
  • Do not repeat tags; when two og:title tags exist, apps may pick either.

Questions about this tool

Why does my WhatsApp link show no photo?

Usually og:image is missing, is not a full https:// link, or the image cannot be opened by apps. Check your page source here, then share the link again with a small change such as ?v=2.

What size should the share image be?

1200 × 630 px. Facebook recommends at least this size and a shape close to 1.91:1.

Do I need separate Twitter tags?

Add twitter:card to choose a large or small image. Our tags use the same title, description and image for X as for other apps.

Why does the preview not change after I fix my tags?

Apps keep a copy of old previews. Refresh it with Meta’s Sharing Debugger or LinkedIn Post Inspector, or share the link with a small change.

Is my page or photo uploaded?

No. Tags, checks and the share image are made in your browser. Loading your image link only asks your website for the picture.
