How to use this tool
- Enter a domain Type a domain like example.in. A full link also works.
- Pick record types Tick the records you need, or use Website, Email or All records.
- Look up Click Look up. Your browser asks a public DNS service directly.
- Read the results Each record shows its value, TTL and what it means in simple words.
- Check a change Turn on “Compare” after changing DNS to see whether the new value has spread.
After changing DNS
- Changes can take up to the old TTL time to show everywhere.
- Lower the TTL a day before a planned move.
- Use “Compare” to see if both services show the new value.
Common records
- A / AAAA: where your website lives.
- MX: where your email goes. Wrong MX = lost email.
- TXT: SPF, DMARC and site verification codes.
Good practice
- Keep only one SPF record per domain.
- Add a CAA record to control who can issue SSL certificates.
- Remove old records for services you no longer use.
Questions about this tool
Why do I see different answers?
DNS answers are saved (cached) for the TTL time. After a change, some services show the old value until the TTL ends.
What does NXDOMAIN mean?
The domain or name does not exist in DNS. Check spelling or registration.
Is my search sent to your server?
No. Your browser asks Google Public DNS or Cloudflare directly.
Why does the lookup fail?
An ad blocker, office firewall or network may block dns.google and cloudflare-dns.com. Try another network.
Can I check a subdomain?
Yes. Type it in full, for example shop.example.in or _dmarc.example.in.
